Studying medicine can prepare scholars for a wide range of careers, but most people choose to pursue their education before entering the workforce. Depending on the education and work history of graduates, graduates may become general practitioners, registered nurses, health educators, medical researchers, allied health managers, forensic science technicians and clinical laboratory technologists.

Turkey is now accepting Turkish Government scholarship applications from international students around the world. Turkey scholarships for International Students are now underway and it is certainly a great time for students. The country has opened its doors to students from around the world and is encouraging them to study at their prestigious Turkish universities.

This is certainly an amazing opportunity for students. With the help of such scholarships, you will be able to study at some of the best universities in Turkey and gain very useful insight, skills, and research. All of these things will prove to be extremely useful as you move on with your career and go into a more demanding phase.

As of now, only international students interested to apply for bachelor, masters, or Ph.D. are eligible to apply for the Turkey Scholarships. The reason for this is pretty straightforward, Turkey simply wants to improve mutual relations and understandings with other countries. Turkish scholarships are already a great deal for international students, as they can get a lot of new experience and knowledge during this educational trip.

However, Turkey has also made sure to reward some of the outstanding students in a different way. They have included a separate scholarship policy for extraordinary students so that they get a chance to study at the best universities in the country.

Benefits Of Turkey Scholarships for international students

Just like most of the other scholarship programs, the Turkey Scholarship program also provides a whole range of benefits to its students. Some of the best advantages of the program are listed below:

  • Free Accommodation:

One of the best things about Turkey Scholarships is that it handles student accommodations in the best way. All the students are accommodated in the university dormitories, the students can live free of charge. However, if the students do not want to live in these dormitories, they can easily move to a location of their liking, although in this case, the student must pay for his own accommodation.

  • No tuition fees:

Students are encouraged to study at their full potential and there is no responsibility on their shoulders. The students do not have to pay for any tuition fees, the education is completely free and this is something that cannot be taken for granted.

  • Health expense:

The health expenses of all the students are covered by public health insurance. Healthcare is a pretty big issue around the world especially if you are a foreigner.

Luckily, this is not the case if you are a scholarship student in Turkey. Even if you get sick all the expenses will be covered by public health insurance and you do not have to pay a single penny.

  • Travel Expenses:

The Turkey Scholarships program even pays for the travel expenses of the students. Two tickets will be provided to the student during their studies, one will be for their arrival and the other one will be for their departure after the students have completed their studies.

However, if the students decide to purchase their tickets on their own, then the amount will be returned to the students later on.

Language Course Requirement for Turkish Scholarships

There are no exceptions for this course, even students who are taking courses in different languages must take the Turkish Language Course. Foundations Development Program

Sabancı University’s Foundations Development Program consists of two key educational stages: the Foundations Development Year and University Courses. All student admits are required to take an English Language Assessment Exam (ELAE). Students deemed to require additional assistance enroll in the Foundations Development Year, which consists exclusively of English and Turkish language courses. The language coursework and the related exams are administered by the University’s School of Languages. Students who pass the ELAE matriculate as freshmen. Subsequently, every Sabancı University student is required to take the University Courses – the core curriculum of the undergraduate program.

Foundations Development Year: Students who do not meet the University’s English language proficiency standards enroll in the Foundations Development Year (FDY). Depending on their ELAE score, these students are placed in one of three levels of language instruction: Basic, Intermediate, or Upper Intermediate. The University uses an instructional methodology that is course requirement- and content-based. As a result, FDY students emerge from the program with sufficient language proficiency as well as academic skills. Student success is judged not from examination results but overall performance in the program so they can seamlessly move on to the University Courses with their freshman classmates.

University Courses: University Courses is Sabancı University’s core curriculum for undergraduates. Designed with a multidisciplinary approach, University Courses establishes links between the natural and social sciences as well as among other disciplines.

During freshman year, students take courses that focus on Humanity and Society, Principles of Atatürk and History of Turkish Revolution, Turkish Language and Literature, Science of Nature, Mathematical Functions: Discrete and Continuous, Interfaculty Course: Computational Approaches to Problem Solving and Academic Literacies. In the sophomore year, students take “Major Works” courses that focus on various significant literary and artistic works. Law and Ethics, taken in either the junior or senior year, examines the complementary concepts of law and ethics in relation to everyday moral dilemmas and choices. With this multidisciplinary educational training, Sabancı University students emerge well-prepared to continue their education at the graduate level or start careers in any number of fields.
