Those in their teenage years tend to take care of themselves, and can even do jobs around the house. While it is true that children need to be supervised while they are working, they also have incredible potentials in certain areas. There are many different kinds of jobs that a 10 year old can get if he or she chooses to. The only limit is their own creativity and interests. But what jobs can 10-year-olds get? Here are some of them:
The answer to this question as of right now is probably (and unfortunately), not many. Let me rephrase that, there are some jobs that you can get when you’re 10 year old, but they aren’t really like the jobs that adults have. These jobs are casual things like mowing lawns, taking out the trash and running errands. There are three reasons why kids can’t get “real” jobs when they’re just 10 years old. One is because kids have no work experience yet and two is because kids don’t have a driver’s license or a car. The last reason kids don’t get jobs at age 10 is because no parent wants their kid to be involved in an accident and possibly end up being hurt or worse killed or injured at a very young age.
What jobs can 10 year olds get
Babysitter
- Be responsible. If you’re asked to watch a younger child, don’t just stay in the room with them. Take them out and explore the world around you together. You can teach them about different places, foods, and even animals!
- Be kind. Your job as a babysitter is not to play games all day—it’s to take care of someone else’s little person. They need constant attention, so make sure they always feel secure while they’re with you. This means no leaving them alone at any time—and that includes when it comes time for bedtime!
- Be honest. If something bad happens while taking care of your charge, like if they get hurt or sick because of an accident on their part (or yours), tell their parents right away so they can deal with it accordingly instead of letting things linger until later on down the road when there could be more serious consequences involved such as legal repercussions due to negligence from those responsible for caretaking duties being ignored altogether instead following proper protocols soon enough after first signs become evident which would otherwise lead towards preventative measures being taken earlier rather than later once symptoms start showing themselves clearly enough so diagnosis occurs within reasonable time limits which would otherwise be missed due if action wasn’t taken soon enough whereupon making sure everything runs smoothly allowing everyone involved–especially children who depend upon adults’ guidance–to have peace-of-mind knowing there will be no surprises lurking around corners waiting until later down road wherein unexpected costs might arise unexpectedly when least expected causing financial strain on families who aren’t prepared financially well enough beforehand having planned ahead by saving money over years prior so as not being caught unprepared should emergencies arise unexpectedly higher priced items may need replacing more quickly than anticipated due resulting loss income potentials might result outweighing savings balance sheet balance sheet
Pet Sitter/Walker
Pet sitting is a job that allows you to care for pets while their owners are away. You may be asked to feed, water, and pet the animals, walk them or play with them. Pet sitters also might provide medication (if needed) and ensure that the pets have access to a litter box or water bowl. Some people provide in-home care for their clients’ homes as well. Before applying for any position as a pet sitter/walker, make sure that you meet all of its requirements and follow these steps:
- Create an online resume detailing your experience working with animals in general (not just cats or dogs). Make sure it is free of grammatical errors! This will show potential employers that you can pay attention to detail while working with others’ animals
Newspaper Routes
A newspaper route is a great way to make money as a 10-year-old. To get started, you’ll want to contact your local newspaper and ask them if they have any routes available. If they do, they will need an application filled out and proof of age (such as a birth certificate or passport).
After the application has been accepted, you will be required to attend training sessions where you learn how to dole out papers in an efficient manner so that everyone receives their papers on time every day. Once this training session is complete, it’s time for the fun part: getting paid!
While working your paper route may seem like an easy job at first glance, there are some drawbacks worth considering before taking on such employment. First off, when people don’t pay their bills on time, it can take quite some time for those debts to be collected by the company; therefore making weekly payments diminishes substantially after only a couple months of employment with them (and sometimes even sooner). Secondly—and perhaps most importantly—there isn’t much room for advancement within this career path beyond just delivering papers one day at a time. While some kids might enjoy doing this type of work because it doesn’t require much skill or effort; others may start looking elsewhere after awhile due lack thereof incentives provided by employers who offer promotions based solely upon longevity with no regard given towards performance metrics such as productivity levels achieved during shifts.”
Lawn Mower/Yard Work
Lawn mowing and yard work are great jobs for 10-year-olds to get. They’ll be able to earn money that can be used to help their families.
If you’re interested in becoming a lawn mower, there are a few things you should know: First, find the right company. Some companies only hire adults while others will hire children with parental permission. You’ll also have to figure out if you want a part-time job or full-time job—a part-time job would allow you more time for schoolwork and other activities, but it might not pay as much as a full-time job would pay (if any). If possible, try getting both types of jobs so that your parents can see how much money they make from each one! Finally, keep in mind that lawn mowing isn’t always safe; wear protective gear like goggles when using power tools such as chainsaws and don’t try anything else unless an adult tells you otherwise (though this rule does not apply if their face gets injured by accident).
If this sounds like something interesting then I say give it go!!”
Find a local family owned business
If you’re lucky, you might already have a family owned business in your area. If not, try asking your parents or grandparents to see if they know of any local businesses that would be interested in hiring you. You can also ask other adults who are part of your community such as teachers, friends of the family and people who work at businesses in the area.
If none of these options work for you then there is still hope! There are plenty of ways to find local businesses that could use help from an energetic kid like yourself:
Recycling Center Assistant Assistant
In this job, you would be responsible for collecting, sorting and transporting recyclables from the recycling center to be sold to individuals or companies. The most important skills that are needed for this job are good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
This is a part time position and it pays $8 per hour. You will work 15 hours per week during times when there is less traffic at the recycling center. You would need to wear jeans and sneakers while you are working here because they may get dirty while sorting through the recycle bins at this facility.
What about online jobs for 10 year olds!
You can earn money through online jobs. These jobs are great for kids, because they’re easy and flexible to do at your own time and in your own home. In fact, there are many different types of online jobs that 10 year olds can get started on right away!
You can make money by doing simple tasks like searching the web or filling out surveys online. If you solve someone’s problem, they might pay you for it! And if you want something more interesting than just looking at ads or clicking around – maybe even something with a little more creativity – try making YouTube videos or writing articles on websites like Buzzfeed or HuffPost (or even this one). You’ll be surprised how much fun it is to make things with just your computer and camera – no fancy equipment required!
There are many great jobs out there for 10 year old.
- Job as a paper boy
- Job as a baby-sitter
- Job as a camp counselor
The list of jobs is endless. You can also look into volunteering opportunities, which are also great ways to practice your skills. As you get older, you’ll have more options for jobs and will be able to make more money!
