For example if you are doing a Master’s Degree program in the field of Social Work, Makerere University will charge you Shs 1,000,000 during your first year at Makerere University while they will charge Shs 1,500,000 during your second year as long as you don’t change any course or department within that period.

But if you want to change departments within this period then it will cost another Shs 1 million for each change. Also note that these prices do not include other non-academic costs such as accommodation and meal plans at Makerere University dormitories which should be budgeted separately on top of the tuition fee costs listed here above.
